It’s already mid-June and everything that comes with that. It’s super dry and hot here, as the desert is wont to being.
I’ve finished up the first draft of the book I’ve been working on and I’m letting it digest for a while before I get too deep into whatever else it may need. That leaves me in these in-between places I end up in, where I’m not quite ready to work on something else, but feeling listless.
The problem with those in-between times is I realize how utterly obnoxious parts of the author business can be when I’m not working on a book. So much of the author world is about the business side, to the point where the actual writing side feels lost and ill-discussed among professionals. That always strikes me as downright odd. Maybe it shouldn’t. I don’t know.
My kids are attending an afternoon “camp” at the local children’s museum and we’re doing our best to keep the playdates flowing. Still, it’s a lot of work to keep two five (almost six) year-olds occupied every minute of every day.
Cydonia Rising is free for a limited time right now in ebook format. If you’ve yet to pick it up, right now is the best time. That’s a 450+ page epic sci-fi novel for nothing. Cool, right?
I’ll be back in July with a cool new giveaway and some other stuff.
