I don’t promote here often.
In truth, it’s because there are a million platforms and a million ways to connect with people and an entire existence like the bit from The Critic where Jay Sherman has a cut-out of himself holding a copy of his book that repeats the line “buy my book” ad nauseum is exhausting.
If you’re in these same circles as I am, you know this to be true. There’s so much shameless self-promotion because, in truth, we have very few options outside of that. Be an artist, be a marketing professional, always be networking, never allow yourself to turn any of this off and be good at all of it, or fail.
The death of traditional social media has also made this all more exhausting.
Anyway.
Fractured Sentinel is on sale. Or at least the ebook is. It’s $0.99.
It’s on sale until October 10th, although I’m gonna be on a plane heading on vacation on the 10th so places that don’t allow for price scheduling (ahem, Amazon) may not get updated for a while.
This book is special. No matter the griping I do about being burned out on writing and reading sci-fi, or my complicated relationship with my own work. In part, it’s special because I allowed myself to deviate. Broken Ascension (which you can pick up via ebook for free!) was my best stab at “write to market” science fiction. It’s action-packed, has heart and a fun cast, all while setting up the series for the future.
But let me tell you, Fractured Sentinel is where I let my hair down. The sandbox was built and now it’s time to get into why the sandbox even exists in the first place. Cosmic horror. Sentient AIs. Existential dread. Complicated political relationships. Exploration of gender and sexuality. The conflict of art and commerce. The tendrils of destructive capitalism. The lasting impact of imperialism. All of that, which the Trystero series is filled with, starts here in this book.
Why am I telling you all this? Because if you’re reading this and following me on here, you either get me already, or you have that nagging feeling that perhaps you do and aren’t sure yet. Or, the third option is you think I’m out of my mind and keeping tabs on what this strange asshole is doing. That’s fine.
This book is just really good, and it’s on sale. Although, if you wanted to get a paperback instead, I wouldn’t object.
You can check these deals out on my store as well.
I don’t lock any of my nonsense behind a pay wall, so occasionally I get to tell you about some of my stuff, right?
Now I need to get ready to go on vacation for a week or so. Be good to each other.
