There’s something magical about that time of year when kids go back to school. Not that they aren’t great, but they’re a lot of work. Even when they were going to their science camps in the summer, there were logistics involved with getting them there, picking them up and whatever else. Getting them back into some discernable pattern, back with their friends without having to arrange a few playdates a week and not being responsible for every part of their day every day is such a massive relief.
Oh, and I can get more time to write, too!
Lots of authors out there can squeeze their work into any and all times. I’ve still been writing over the summer, including finishing and polishing a draft on a different project, but I was already deep into that one. Cracked Palace has a placeholder release date of December 31st and for now I’m not sure what my actual plan will be for that release date. The kids being back to school means I’ve finally gotten to dig into it. Starting a book when I can only get maybe 30 minutes at a time to work wasn’t great, and I waited until school started before getting too invested.
This is the last book in the Trystero series after all. I want to give Drake, Valencia and the crew the proper sendoff. If there’s other spinoff books or anything remain to be seen, but for now? Wrapping up this six-book story in a satisfying way is my top priority. With that, I’m going to get back to it. I want this done and in your hands as soon as possible.
That’s all for me for now. As always, I greatly appreciate all of you and hope things are going smoothly for you as well.
Until next time, take some time for yourself and enjoy life.
